Resident: It’s been a nightmare. I woke up this morning to find my house surrounded by water. I had to call for help and thankfully the rescue team was able to get me out safely.
Voiceover: The heavy rain has also caused significant damage to infrastructure, with roads and bridges being washed away.
Council representative: We are currently assessing the extent of the damage and working to repair the roads and bridges as quickly as possible. We urge residents to stay off the roads and only travel if absolutely necessary.

Business owner: It’s devastating. We’ve had to close our doors and we don’t know when we’ll be able to reopen. It’s going to have a huge impact on our business.
Voiceover: The SES has been working tirelessly to assist those affected by the flooding. Volunteers have been sandbagging homes and providing essential supplies to those in need.
SES volunteer: It’s been a challenging few days, but we’re here to help in any way we can. We’re urging residents to stay safe and listen to all evacuation orders.
Voiceover: As the rain continues to pour, authorities are warning residents to remain vigilant and be prepared for the possibility of further flash flooding.
